A luncheon to celebrate Navroz, the arrival of spring and the start of a new year, was held on March 23, 2018. The Navroz festival is an important family and community celebration for the Ismaili Muslim community. It also signifies a time of spiritual renewal and physical rejuvenation, combined with gratitude for blessings received and hope for the future. Navroz is celebrated in many parts of the Middle East and Central and South Asia, particularly among peoples influenced by Persian and Turkic civilisations. In countries such as Iran, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, Navroz is observed as a public holiday. |
